new paint!

some of you guys may have known about the front end conversion i was doing...grafting 98-00 model fenfers into my 02 to get the full body line and shave the bumper. Well a couple of months back, when it was almost finished somebody decided the work i put in didnt matter and slammed there brakes in fron of me and ruined everything. So instead of re-do it all i just swapped over completely, saved some money for paint and took it to the shop. sorry i dont have any good pics, theyre all done with my cell phone.

i'm having everything completely cut in, including the insides of the hood and fenders and the door jambs. the wiper cowl, door handles, and front valance, are also getting smoothed and painted along with pretty much every piece of the dash i could pry off

you have to cut it off, recessit and trim about an inch out of it, then weld it back in with plactic weld and brace the shit out of it on the inside with more plastic and weld, then just bondo and work it

Do you mind me asking what the paint portion set you back? I've known people that payed 2k for a pretty good job upwards of 15. I know body work plays a role, but whats about average....

$2200 that's with all the body work, and the door jambs inside the fenders and hood getting cut in and a bunch of interior pieces. thats not a run of the mill price for a good paint job with everything done right, it just depends on where you are.

My truck has been in the shop for about 1 year and 1 month. - am an ov er the road truck driver so I haven't worried but I'm getting tired of waiting. - did the xterra conversion almost 4 years ago its getting old now.got sadistic single hinge suicides for it a suicide hood rear frame is air tank got a fuel cell from brandon on here which helped me a lot.I am thinking of some type of custom front bumper got the grant cali combo. Let's see its 3/4 frame dropped to rockers there is a buildup on here I just haven't updated cause I haven't got any new pics.

Anyway make sure u reinforce that skin or it will crack at the welds I'm on my second one now had a shop put it on and they still didn't do it right. So when my bedfloor is finally raised and smoothed I am going to fix the combo good lunck on ur truck I wanted to do blue but it seems everyone has blue anymore.

Oh boy I didnt even notice the tailights till someone mentioned it. I have those same lights have had them for a while I wanna get rid of them and get the smoke ones or I may see if i can tint these...they work great at night they are super bright.
