I have an 04 fronty and i wanted to add a leaf to the stock pack then dearch. I wanted to get 4" of drop but i dont want the back to be "mushy". I was hoping that by adding a leaf it would stiffen it up and retain payload. So i was thinking either dearch 3" w/ 1" block or dearch 2" w/ 2" block. Also does this work with the frontys? http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=7%2E2103 This was just an idea and I just needed some feedback before i just went and got it done. I'm sorry if this sounds rediculous, i'm just getting into the scene, thanks in advance.

so no to de-arching your leafs. if your sprung under do a drop block and redill your front hangers to get lower. Your truck will ride like crap with de arched springs and adding an add a leaf will basically negate the drop from the de arching. Also in most cases using an add a leaf actually lowers your payload capacity (the ones added into a leaf pack) the other style more or less load support leafs do work decently but load leaving air bags work better

I've read that redrilling hangers messes with your pinion angle. To correct this you would put pinion shims? If so which angle shim should I get 2, 3, or 6 degree? would there be much of a difference in ride with redrill w/ 2" block vs. redrill w/ 3" block? I'll be running the nitro 2s and cut bump stops.

Seems we just went through a de arching discusion. Do a redrill, 2 inch angle block it will give u about 3 inches of drop cut ur bumpstop down and soon after that u will want to bag this thing cause it won't be low enough in about 3 weeks time.
