I posted my plans for this HB in the introductions section the other day and here is what I have so far. Not much but its almost a thousand dollars closer to being dropped... Planning 18" titans with 3-4" blocks in the rear and 2" drop spindles up front. Not sure on which shocks yet, let me know if you guys have any suggestions.

BTW this 22 year old HB has over 420,000 miles and there is virtually no rust other then a small spot near the sun roof.

After

Found some 3" drop blocks today at advanced so I think I'm gonna try those on tomorrow and do a temporary torsion drop to see how it will look once the front spindles are on. The front end looks like it will be very close but not quite able to tuck, and the rear end looks like it will need to be flared about an inch and a half or maybe two inches to tuck if I want them in the wheel wells later on.

I also bought a little 115v lincoln welder the other day and have been practicing with it.. So maybe by next summer I will know how to use it if I wanna drop my HB even more.

Will add some more pics once I get the blocks on.

what did you do with the old rims?

I still have the old rims, My brother thinks they will look good on his silverado but I'm trying to talk him out of it.

It's dark so no pic's but I've put on the 3" blocks and I'm setting on the bump stops in the rear. Probably should have pulled them out before hand but they are just barely touching the axle. Not sure If I want to pull them out and leave the 3" blocks or switch them out for some 2" blocks. I'm afraid that if I pull the bump stops I will rub on the fenders with the 3" blocks. Gonna drop the front tomorrow and pick up some 2" blocks and see how that works.

The tires I had mounted on them were 255/50/R17's. Not sure about the offset but they will definitely stick out past your fenders by about 2" if your wanting to put them on a hardbody.

If u are worried about rubbin on ur titans, roll the inside lip of the fender and u should be able to clear them fine otherwise u can always do the ol' skool technique to flare ur fenders some by using a 2x4 and a scissor jack, and jus cut the old fender braces use the wood so it moves the whole fender evenly and then once u get enough to clear jus welded in longer stronger braces and u should clear ur titans fine

Thanks guys I know I'm gonna have to flare the bed sides but I'm not sure were I need to cut the inner fender at to spread them. I found a pic of where the cut was supposed to be on the other forum, but seems like I get spyware alerts every time I try and go back there to find it. I found the minitruckin article on how to flare them Here (http://www.minitruckinweb.com/tech/body/0309mt_fender_flare_tech_how_to/photo_14.html) but from what I can see under my HB there are no braces.. Just an inner fender that is welded all the way down the outer fender.

Today I replaced the 3" blocks with 2" blocks and trimmed the bump stops by an inch. I also replaced the rear shocks and it rides so much better now, doesn't feel like I'm in a boat when I hit a bump. I found a broken exhaust hanger while I was under there that made my exhaust sway like hell. I cleaned it up with the grinder and re-welded it so thats fixed now too.

My bro is trying to talk me into lowering it with torsion bars only and then getting it aligned. I would rather go with spindles, I just want to make sure they will fit inside my wheels.

Questions for you guys... If I want to keep my ride decent up front should I go with the spindles and nitro actives or torsion drop it? Will I have trouble getting it aligned with a torsion drop? About the fenders.. Cheapest I found them on Ebay is $169 per with $75 shipping.. Seems kind of steep to me, is that a good deal or is there someplace I can get them cheaper?

I will get some pictures of it tomorrow.

Since you're only going 2" in the back, you can go either way up front. You can easily torsion the front 2" with ultra-low profile bumpstops and Cordoba shocks and it will ride as good as it does now. Alignment should not be out too much.

Ok It's been awhile since I could take some pictures, but I just got home from work and took a few pics to show what it looks like now.

I went ahead and went with the belltech 2" drop spindles up front and they went on pretty smooth. Sucked that I had to trim the tie rod ends but It worked out a lot better then I thought it would.

So for now there are 2" drop blocks in the back and 2" drop spindles in the front. Looks kinda like I should have stayed with the 3" blocks in the rear because the front looks lower then the rear now..time for a c notch.:D
