86 nissan 720 2.4l nap z. question is my harmonic balancer pulled out while i was driving last night, when i got it towed home, i looked under the hood thinking that it was the bolt holding the balancer may have came off, i slid it straight off but the bolt was still there...tightly snug up the washer was missing from the balancer although and im about 90 percent sure it is the same washer because they both so happen to have a blue mark on them and they sit up against each other pretty well, it did take out my main seal on the timing cover so im going to pick that up in about an hour and a half

Anyone got a 720 motor out and wanna snap a picture varifying what yours compaired to mine?
Photos up in a few

Sounds like the rubber part between the pulley and the part that bolts to the crank failed. Replace with a whole new piece. That whole thing is one assembly.

resulting damage but it still wont slide in because of the next pictures yellow gear in the way which is the oil dist gear

does this gear look like it belongs there?

this entire balancer pulled out and the washer was one that looked like it went with it, color coded blue and everything, i did save the last balancer from my old truck for awhile but lost it although the washer and bolts happened to still be in the bag

That gear on the crank shaft is for the oil pump. It looks to be too far out. Remove the oil pump and distributor shaft. If the gear on the crank is damaged, and or the gear on the oil pump shaft is damaged, replace them before reassembly. Watch out for the key way on the gear and you should have one on the crank for the harmonic balancer.

i finally got the truck up and running but did a shitty job on the oil pan gasket so im more than likely going to have to redo that within the next week. its pretty bad, but on the good side, trucks a champ back up and running sort of.
