so this is my buddies brand new air zenith compressor. hes only had it on the truck for maybe 3 or 4 months. it didnt even work when it was brand new. the first time we fired up the compressor the set screw for the connecting rod came out, got sucked into the cylinder and broke the reed.

so after a new reed and setscrew it worked, at best, sub par.

so finally the other day he was drivin home, and the compressor totally gives out. hell all it was good for was maybe a fishtank bubbler pump.

so anyways, hers some pics of the shitty compressor.

Yeah, I talked with Dan at FBI the other day, and he told me that the AZ's were giving him a lot of grief lately and told me to stick with viair.

seems like long term testing is proving the viair's to be better than the AZ's. Sure, the AZ might be faster, but id rather have reliability in a part that could leave me stranded.

i had 2 az comps in my f150 for over 2 years never gave me a problem at all i sold the truck still has them a year later i also ran 4 gauge to a distru. block then 8 gauge out to them which is recc. also have a swinger 80 amp relay on each comp an a 200psi pressure switch i could fill my 12 gallon tank from empty to 200psi in about 6-7 min. i also had a 150 amp alt. an a 1000cca batt

ya i think the original air zeniths were good the new ones are the shit ones i think their tryin to make them so high tech that their sacraficing reliability
